Beer Brats with Sauerkraut

Football and Brats – a great combination.
  • 5 hoagie rolls
  • 5 bratwurst
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 1/3 cup beer
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  1. Heat the Evo grill to Medium High and place the bratwurst in a braising pan and place it on the cook surface on the inner burner.
  2. Pour a half inch of beer over the bratwurst and bring to a boil.
  3. Cook the bratwurst thoroughly in the beer and then remove from pan, place directly on the cook surface, and sear on all sides.
  4. Reduce the grill temperature to Low and sauté the sauerkraut with a bit of butter, brown sugar, and caraway seeds.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls and build the sandwich.
